ILHAM GULIYEV, DEPUTY MINISTER MET WITH STANISLAV ARISTOV, MINISTER COUNSELLOR OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN THE NORTH CAUCASUSIlham Guliyev, Deputy Minister of the Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan met wıth Stanislav Aristov, Minister Counsellor of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus who paid official visit to Baku city to attend VII Azerbaijani-Russian inter-regional forum in 2 November.

The purpose of the meeting was the discussion the possibilities of further cooperation between the Minister of Agriculture and Northern Caucasus region of the Russian Federation in the agricultural sector.

Deputy Minister Ilham Guliyev greeted the guests and expressed confidence for the development of a new level of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan in all spheres as well as cooperation in the field of agriculture.

Ilham Guliyev gave information about the care and attention of the leadership of agrarian sector of the country, establishment of agro parks as well as agriculture subsidies allocated for various areas by the government and paying attention to export-oriented industries, particularly cotton, silk, tobacco and tea production and he said that climatic conditions are favorable for the development of various sectors of agriculture in Azerbaijan and agricultural products produced in the country has quality from environmental point of view. Deputy Minister noted that tomatoes produced in the most modern greenhouses of the country is known as Baku brand in Russian markets.

Ilham Guliyev, Deputy Minister said that there is favorable investment climate for production of environmentally friendly agricultural products in Azerbaijan for businessmen of Northern Caucasus region.

Stanislav Aristov said that they were interested in purchasing silk, cotton, nuts products expressing his satisfaction about establishing of "Green Corridor" in customs checkpoints from both sides for delivering of exportable products to the North Caucasus and the Russian Federation given that the agricultural products of Azerbaijan is environmentally friendly. Stanislav Aristov said that they will present a package of proposals to the Ministry of Agriculture in short time.

Then, the two parties exchanged views on priority areas.
