Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development of the Republic of Ghana, Emelia Arthur
The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Majnun Mammadov, met with the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development of the Republic of Ghana, Emelia Arthur, within the framework of the Sea the Future: II Blue Food Security Global Summit held in Israel.
During the meeting, the ministers emphasized that there is great potential for further expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ghana in various areas, including in the field of agriculture, and for increasing trade turnover in agricultural products. It was noted that strengthening bilateral relations meets the interests of both countries and creates the basis for long-term, sustainable economic cooperation.
Minister Emelia Arthur stated that Ghana is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan, primarily in the field of aquaculture, and drew attention to the existence of broad prospects for the implementation of joint projects in this direction.
Minister Majnun Mammadov noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan is consistently expanding cooperation with African countries in various areas, including in the field of agriculture. Recalling that memorandums of cooperation in the agricultural sector have been signed with a number of African countries in recent times, the minister proposed signing a similar document with the Republic of Ghana, as well as establishing a joint working group to determine the prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector. Majnun Mammadov also expressed his readiness to share the advanced technologies and experience that Azerbaijan has applied in the agricultural sector with the Ghanaian side.
The meeting also exchanged views on cooperation in the field of agricultural education, opportunities for Ghanaian youth to study at the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University, and other issues of mutual interest.
