Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov met with a delegation led by the Head of the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation (ITFC) Hani Salem Sonbol, who is visiting our country. The meeting discussed the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation in the field of agriculture.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov touched upon the importance of holding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan, stressed that our country is enthusiastically joining the initiatives arising from global challenges, attaches importance to effective cooperation with international partners, and expressed interest in cooperation with the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation, which operates within the Islamic Development Bank of Azerbaijan.

Head of the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation Hani Salem Sonbol provided information about the activities of the organization he leads and provided information about the work it has done in various countries, including the projects financed in agriculture. He said that the financial institution he represents is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in many areas, including agriculture. Hani Sani Sonbol said that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change also serves as a platform for discussing new cooperation opportunities with partners.

The meeting exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
