Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with John Deere President for Central Asia and the CIS, Ksaba Leyko
Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov met with John Deere President for Central Asia and the CIS, Chief Executive Officer of John Deere Walldorf International LLC, Ksaba Leyko, who was visiting our country.
Welcoming the guest, the minister provided the guest with detailed information on the role of agriculture in the development of the non-oil sector in our country, the reforms implemented in the agricultural sector, the achievements achieved, the state support provided to farmers, the digitalization of the agricultural sector, the projects implemented on the application of artificial intelligence in agriculture, the favorable investment climate existing in our country, the favorable conditions created for business, as well as the strategic goals set for the development of the agricultural sector.
Thanking for the warm welcome, Ksaba Leyko recalled that the company he represents has been successfully operating in Azerbaijan for many years and expressed their interest in further expanding the existing fruitful cooperation. Noting that cooperation prospects were widely discussed during the meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the company head spoke about projects that could be implemented with our country in cotton growing, grain growing, irrigation, logistics, specialist training, renewal of the technical fleet and other areas.
A preliminary agreement was reached with the Ministry of Agriculture and John Deere on cooperation in the mentioned areas during the meeting.
The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
